Hi. I am 26 and have klumpke's palsy in my right hand. I just started doing research on the web a few days ago, and I never even heard of klumpke's palsy until last night I only heard the term Erbs palsy however it is apparent to me that is what I have. I have many question's about it, too many to list on this message board. When I was born my mother had a planned c-section. Is that rare to get erbs threw a c-section? Do I have any legal rights? I am really clueless about this but I would like to learn more about it. Looking for a support group in the ny area. You can e mail me at
jjso77@aol.com. Thank you.

Hi Joe
You have just begun... It is amazing when you learn all of the many issues relating to "Erb's -- OBPI or Klumke's Palsy. I no longer call it Erb's it sounds like a salad that way. I always refer to it by the term Obstetricial Brachial Plexus Injury.
I and right OBPI and when I found this website I had so many mixed emotions. I thought I was one of the "rare birth injured" My hand was also involved as it is weak and I cannot supinate I also have Horner's syndrome.
It is amazing when you read everyone's story that each of us thought that we were alone with this injury and now we are part of an exclusive club... "Club OBPI".... LOL... we are a very restrictive group... you must have a bpi injury, a good sense of humor, be very stubborn and of course think nothing is wrong with you... You must admit that nothing stops you except you....
Welcome to the Club... and just think no membership fee because you paid your dues... LOL...
If I can help with any question please feel free to e-mail me or post them here and lots of folks will answer.
