eye droppers
Max really enjoyed learning how the eye dropper worked and altho he never quite got the hang of it- it was really a good work out for his pincher grasp- I just got a glass of water and an eye dropper and we played with it for a while-

Marymom....
here's a snowflake idea for window decoration
use large coffee filters that you flatten out with your hand
take some tempura paints and dilute them a bit to make them more watery
use eye droppers to drop paint onto the filter
when it's dry - you can then cut them up into snowflakes (do you remember this from grade school - you fold it and fold it and fold it till you get an ice cream cone, then cut the top off, then cut on the folded end...lol)
well you can do whatever you want with the coffee filters.... they look pretty neat with the paint...
you can teach max how to mix colors to make new colors too....
Here's an idea for those of you who are doing speech therapy and involving the tongue in exercises:
take a tablespoon of karo syrup and put it on a paper plate
drop a few drops of different food colors - just like a drop of each color - into the Karo
have your child do a tongue painting...painting the karo with their tongue all over the plate....make swirls and lines..
I watched Maia's class do this together yesterday - it looked like SO MUCH fun!!
