Life’s ups and downs.

It’s funny how things sometimes pan out innit?
I’ve had the strangest couple of months for a long while.
In October I was retired from the Fire Service (I can’t tell you how devastated I was by that) and had no job to go to….I’ve been working back there on a temporary contract, but knew there were no long term options for me.
A job advert came up that I thought “I’ve got absolutely no chance of getting”. It was for the Police as a ‘Crime Analyst’. Guess what I got the job! To top it all I’d not even been shortlisted for it because of a mistake by their personnel dept. I called to find out why I’d not got an interview and they told me about the error. I wouldn’t let it drop and got invited for interview. They said they’d already chosen the people they were going to offer the job to, so I would have to do well. They’ve offered me one of the top jobs!
Because of the job I had to buy a car. I had the money waiting, but couldn’t afford to buy until I had a job sorted. I found a car. An absolute bargain (I think). only 5800 miles on the clock and only ten months old. It was about £2000-£2500 less than any other dealers could manage.
I got the car booked into ‘Brig-Ayd’ (thanks Marc) for next Tuesday. They’re only a few miles from me and incidentally in the same place where I will be working.
Everything seemed to be going well until some stupid pillock drove into the back of my new car last Friday!
Turns out he’s not insured!!
I wonder if something is trying to tell me I shouldn’t be on the road?
Ah well who cares anyway, I’ve got a great new job, a new car, Christmas is just ‘round the corner and I’m damned sure I’m gonna enjoy it!!
I hope you all do too!!
P.S. Happy birthday Jenny…..hope you didn’t get ‘legless’ too.
P.P.S Good Luck Karl with the surgery, hope that goes well too!
