Has anyone had their child's elbow make a loud popping noise when doing ROM? This just started with Sarah last week, and now it does it every day. I talked with the OT about it and she seems to think it could be one of the bones in her forearm coming out of socket as her elbow is being flexed. Just wondering if we're the only ones having this problem...

Cherie be very careful - and contact TCH about it. Maia's elbow is dislocated. There's nothing they can do to fix it (unless the child is in a lot of pain and then they remove the head of the bone).

I remember my elbow popping a lot when I was a kid. I used it to get out of therapy. I owuld definitely get it checked though. Everybody is different. I might be nothing --but it could be dislocation. Pat

Yeah, Sam's shoulder does that too and when I brought it to Dr. Nath's (TCH) attention, he said that it was a partial dislocation and if you aren't careful, it could end up being a trip to the ER. So, like everyone else has said, be very careful and have it checked out! Good luck.

It does it alot over 52 years with erbs My elbow is aways bent I never can statighten out.Its just werd I think it pops out of socket.I never had a problem because it did pop. Every person has bones that pop to.

You should have it check out, I fell the bone slip out in my elbow and for me it does dislocate I pull on my left on with my right and it goes back in place but thats me. All injurys are not the same even if they are a like in someways .

I have always wondered what caused popping elbows. I am 29 years old and my elbows have popped for as long as I can remember. Sometimes when I am carrying one of my children my elbow will lock and it hurts like hell to get it moving again.
