Re: Disney Trip
That would be great! It could be like camp but at Disney World. I know they do conferences there all the time. If UBPN organizes it they would give them a discount because it would be for our wonderful kids! The kids would love it, I'm sure! And some parents like myself! Great idea Walter!
Re: Disney Trip
Walter,
That is a very cool idea.
We will check into it for a future campsite possibility. It would be more expensive than a 'regular' camp but maybe we can get Disney to cut us a break.

Re: Disney Trip
Nancy, I think you would get a big turnout because people could turn it into a family vacation at the same time if done in the summer months. Just an idea but early June would be less crowded and not as hot as August. About the expense...there are three different priced resorts at Disney...1. value 2. moderate and 3. deluxe...so I guess it depends on how much you want to spend. But I know that the Coronado Spring Resort (moderate) has conference center right on the premisis which would be handy. But the Carribean Beach Resort (moderate) is beautiful with white sand beaches and great pools for the kids to play in (always thinking therapy).

Re: Disney Trip
Just wanted to point out that schools "up north" don't get let out until 3rd or 4th week in June.
Re: Disney Trip
June or August doesn't matter much, those summer months are extremely hot. 90's and afternoon rains. Great idea though! Maybe some of us locals could open our homes to families that can't afford the resorts.
Re: Disney Trip
Wow, what a wonderful idea. I was planning on taking Zoe there this summer anyway for her birthday. We will just change the time to meet you all if this goes through.
Re: Disney Trip
We're visiting Disney this April, but not actually staying there. I know they have great discount specials where you can stay for under $90 a night. But if Nancy works with Disney I'm sure they can come up with something if a lot of people sign up to go. We'll go if this is planned for next year. Can't afford to go twice in one year.
Re: Disney Trip
Just to remind you all that camp is already planned for this year and we will be putting up all the details of that very soon. It will be over Labor Day weekend at Silver Bay Association in the Adirondacks in upstate New York.
What we are discussing here is the potential site of a camp following that one.

Re: Disney Trip
We would be interested in a future Disney camp too. Of course, my preference would be in the off season Mar/Apr or Oct/Nov when it's not so hot. I'm sure that wouldn't be an ideal time to try to do something like this though which would prob. have to be during a school break (unless everyone's willing to skip school - hehe). School breaks are going to be the busiest and most expensive time to go to Disney, but I'm sure they'd give us a break, just don't know how much of a break.
In the meantime, I'm looking forward to receiving more info. on this year's camp. It looks like a beautiful location!
