INJURY TO MOMS

If it is so common for the moms to be injured during delivery; then why don't the lawyers handling the cases (for our children OBPI's) make it part of the questioning to ask the moms. I personlly was injuried more than I cared for. I now have a fair amount of discomfort in many ways. Until someone posted about this subject I personally have not told anyone about these problems expecially the lawyer handling our case.
I thought I would have to live with it because I had to much pride to tell anyone. Now after 3 years since the birth of Rebekah, I am finally going to seek medical treatment. But I did not know that this was common.

Well anyways my point is; if the lawyers made it common practice to ask the moms it still would be embarresing but it would be less embarresing if they brought up the subject instead of us moms. I believe if the moms know that this is very common then they are more open to talk about such personal problems. But the moms are not going to know unless someone tells them. Like myself I have not seeked medical care until that post about injury to moms. Unbelievable, I was going to just live with my problems. No one even asked about me, if I was injured or not. Or at least no one who I would tell anyways. You know those people. Last thing I want is to find my problems being told to someone I did not want them being told to.

Thank You to the one who started that post. I commend you for coming forward. I personally appreciate it.

Thank You again
Toni

Toni,

I do not know who your lawyer is or how experienced they are with this type of case, but I think that most really respected lawyers with a great deal of knowledge and experience in this area of law would most certainly question the mother regarding her own health issues in conjunction with this sort of case.

However, it may be that particular lawyers choose only to focus on the child.

This may be a good question to ask for Ken's insight on.

Didn't Ken Levine post about this issue a few weeks ago? In his post he provided some good information regarding injury to moms.

Just wanted to know how many people (moms) actually file a suit reguarding there problems after giving birth? Is it worth it? Earlier today I emailed my attorney about my problems and the only response I got back was to seek medical attention and if it is proven to be caused by the delivery then they would file suit. What, now I am so ashamed. I can not believe this. I should have waited to go into details with any one. But I really do not even know if I want to file suit. I do not want to sit on any stand and have other people hear about my personal problem. WHAT WAS I THINKING????
What did I expect from them. I do not even know what I was thinking.

My suggestion to every MOM is to seek medical advise first then decide if you want to file a suit.

To Bridget,

I had Ken Levine as my first lawyer, and he never asked me about my injuries...Same as my second lawyer.
