I have had two surgeries so far fusing C4-5-6-7. I have been fighting pain for the last five years and now doctors are suggesting BP nerve damage. I am being refered to a orthpeadic specialist for review. I have been off work for over a year now, and continue to have no controla t times for right and left arms and hands. Pain radiates fron neck to shoulder and down both arms into hands. Any advise or preventative successes to surgery that anyone can share?

Forever greatful.

rebekah-i'm not sure from your post if your pain was caused by the surgery (one study found that out of 50,000 surgeries 79 resulted in a bpi....it's pretty common)or if the surgery was meant to help with the pain but didn't. It would definitely be worth seeing a bpi specialist to find out exactly what's happened, there's a list under 'medical resources' on the home page if you're in the states but if you say where you are I'm sure someone will know of a specialist near you. Good luck :) Jen NZ
