IMPORTANT INFO FOR ANYONE WANTING TO STAY AT THE MARRIOTT!!!!!!

We stayed at the Marriott at the medical center in Houston over Thanksgiving when my son had his surgery. We stayed for 3 nights (Nov 20, 21, and 22) for $79 per night plus applicable taxes. If no one has already seen Francine's response to my post from yesterday, she said that the Marriott will honor the $79 rate as long as you can provide them with my full name (Desiree McDaniel). I would also suggest you provide them with the dates that we stayed and we were in room 607. I was quoted the rate of $79 before I indicated that it would be 2 adults and 1 child. I find it quite funny that they are telling people that they don't offer rooms at that low of a rate when they did to me just 2 weeks ago today. Hope this helps everyone out there who is thinking about staying at the Marriott, and I hope you do not have any problems. If you do let me know.

Hi there,

WOW - has this board changed! I haven't been on in a while but saw your message regarding the Marriott. Alyssa is having her surgery in February and I called the Marriott to get a room. The girl quoted me $119/night for the TCH rate. I questioned her and explained that you had received a rate of $79/night and that I had also received a rate of $89/night back in July. I asked for her supervisor and she came on and said there is no way I can get a rate of either one of those because those were specials that were ran in those months and they do not exist any longer. I complained and got nowhere. I already have an existing reservation at Best Western and if Marriott won't budge then that is where we will be staying!

Any ideas as to how to get them to honor that rate?

Thanks,

Jody Gallette

Hi, Jody. What surgery is Alyssa going to have? One suggestion I have is that if your upcoming stay includes any weekend nights that you try to get their weekend special "come and play" rate of $79 for at least those nights. Then, you have the higher rate for the other nights, but not for the entire stay. From what I've heard about the new rooms at TCH, it sounds like you might not even need a room while Alyssa is in the hospital. Well, I hope this helps.

My son is having surgery in January. We are booked at the Crowne Plaza (supposedly directly across the street from TCH). Should I have booked the Marriott?

Louise.....At Marriott, Entertainment Card rate is $69 and they didn't ask us to see the card....

And if you need a card I will send you mine...I just got one. You can just send it back after your trip.
