Dynatron STS

Post by admin »

I heard a news report on this new technology for chronic pain treatment and was hoping maybe someone knew anything about it. It is called a Dynatron STS. I have their website address and it sounds like it might work but so did the TENS unit when I read about it. Any information that could be shared would be greatly appreciated.

I have not looked at this product and don't have the time to right now, but parents when you research something always ask about age appropriateness and contraindications - your bpi specialist will be able to give you recommendations yay or nay. The reason I am writing this is because what caught my eye is the comment about TENS which is contraindicated on young children....

Hi Mindy
Jocey is in process of get one. We are waiting to see if the insurance will approve it. Is almost the same as the TENS the only difference with this kind is a digital screen come with a plug where you connect a wire and the doctors or the hospital could evaluate the pain and relief with the device. Also is more powerful than the regular TENS that is why I think they will not approve it for kids. The value is $4,000. The research for this device was made here in Texas.

I am new to all these message boards and now am not sure if I put this in the right board. I am an adult with a bpi and was hoping someone might know something about this treatment

Hi, Mindy. Welcome to the board (but I'm sorry that you "had" to be here). I have a 2 1/2 y.o. daughter, Nicole, with a BPI from birth. You're certainly welcome to post here anytime, but I will tell you that this board is primarily parents of children with BPIs. Most of the children with BPIs don't go through constant pain as many of the adults do. You'll probably get more feedback if you post on the adult board. -Tina
