Further to Jens request for info about individual experiences with pain, (see post lower down...) we are looking for people who have had DREZ lesion surgery or any other form of ablative surgery or spinal surgery, including implants, for the relief of BPI pain who are willing to share their experience with us. Any info will be gratefully received, no matter how small.
If you do not want to post the info here, please feel free to email me
liz@tbpi-group.org
You can email anonymously too, no problem.
Thanks in advance...

yeah liz, i had a DREZ performed. unfortunately it only werkt till the swelling went down. for a month and a half i was free of the intense shooting pain. doc burned in about 100 places at 70 degrees for 10 seconds. i'm spose to go back in for a second attempt. been called twice with a date but i declined both. for both financial and emotional reasons. i am ltbpi and post surgery, my left leg diminished to approx 60% use. it has since come back 100%, but really weird at first. stairs weren't automatic, i had to think and tell my leg to move. the doc wants to burn hotter and longer in the next attempt, thus having a higher risk of losing leg. catch 22. how bad is the pain, really? i ask myself. what i found the strangest was the fact that my 6 hr spinal cord surgery was on a thurs, and i was discharged on sun, only 4 days after. so now the only outcome from the DREZ is that i can no longer feel touch on my bicept and tricept, whereas i could priorly.
hope this helps.
i have talked to others who have had 100% relief though.
Denny, Vancouver.
