Aaron has mod quad scheduled for Dec 16th but has been ill with bronchiolitis. We are set to go, have the room booked and all but are unsure if he will be able to have surgery or not. I have taken him in for chest x-rays and had the results faxed to Lisa Davis at TCH so that she may present it to the anesthesiologist (sp?) to see how bad it is. They say that if he is not on breathing treatment (which he is not) then he would be ok for surgery but I would hate to have to drive 13-14 hours to be turned away due to an illness. This is so frustrating, I do all I can to keep him from getting ill, sometimes I think I am overdoing it by putting 3 layers of clothes on him and he still gets sick. Please keep him in your prayers. TIA
Paula

Paula - well it's 10 days away and that's a good amount of time to recover. Get Aaron to his ped doc the day before you leave and have him check his lungs out (if he's still showing symptoms then). I don't think TCH minds if you cancel even in the last minute because think of all the people they turn away once they are there - it happens all the time.

Paula- I will certainly keep Aaron in my prayers. But Paula - you have to take care of yourself. Try to do something each day to calm your stress. I know it's a tough time - I know how hard it is now. But you need to make sure that you don't get sick now too!
Big hugs,
francine

Sorry that Aaron is sick. Hopefully he'll recover before surgery. Francine had good advise. Good luck to you and God Bless.

Good luck Paula. Lisa and I will keep you in our prayers. We tried so hard to keep Hannah well before surgery while all her friends were sick. Unfortunately, I don't think the extra layers of clothing really help. It's mostly about keeping the germs away. I know that's hard with a big family, just tell everyone to wash their hands before they play with Aaron.

Hopefully, he stays well in the hospital this time.

I got a call today from Lisa at TCH and she said the results of the chest x-ray said lungs were clear which kind of baffles me. Aaron's ped told me that he heard alot of noise going on in his lungs(?). He did sound bad and felt bad also. Said that at this point it seemed like an UPPER resp inf. So, the plans are still on for Houston. YEAH! thanks to all.
