Just wanted to ask.. My boyfriend has avulsed C6 and possible stretched. Not sure if that is all or not. The Doctors are scheduling him for a MRI soon with surgery soon to follow. (Accident was 3mo ago.)Luckily we have some surgeons in our area who have done this surgery in the past with success. Tim would like to know from those who have had surgery what to expect after, ie: will he be able to move his neck, walk around, sit up without a problem, and also return to therapy. We would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hi Tanya,
I avulsed c 5,6,7 and after the exploration of the plexus op i was fine and able to carry on as normal...There was no prob with any movement apart from wathing the drains dont pull out.
after the second sugery to repair the nerves i was stapped up like a mummy with bandages for six weeks until the grafts heal,and needed quite a bit of aid with dresing and bathing etc,i was also very sore for a couple of mth but then iy wasnt too bad

Hi Tanya i severed C567 damaged C8 and T1 and had the surgery which was a long one but i was just restricted to ovement for 6 weeks after the operation to make sure the nerves healed properly and i know can move aswell as i could before accept my arm ofcorse it is still not working but i have more surgery yet
