I am so proud of my daughter. She took her ribbons and cards to school and did her speech on bpi and Aarons surgery and struggles. By the time she was done there was not a dry eye in the class even the teacher was crying! They could not believe that BABIES have to go thru so much because of carelessness. She handed out the cards and they were read and passed on to others. Kids were stopping her in the hall all day and asking questions, how her baby brother was doing, or just to tell her that they will pray for him. Like I said, they are only teenagers and not of childbearing age yet but someday they will be...

Paula - you must be such a proud mamma! and your daughter must be beaming! I hope you save memorabilia about this day so that she can share this with Aaron when he's older. Give your daughter a big High Five from me! She's quite a young lady!

What a wonderful thing to do! I am embarassed to say all I accomplished was to explain my son's condition to a few teachers. I also made a few medical staff aware that there was a BPI awareness week and support network. What your daughter did shadows what I as the mother have failed to do as yet. So not only has she made many people aware at her school. She has also inspired this mom to do more! Two pats on the back for your Daughter. God Bless her!
