attorney referrals?

Hello there. I am new to this site. 9 month old who suffered OBPI and has two avulsions. She is doing well, but we know she has a long road in front of her.
I am, at this time, hoping that you all would be so kind as to help me navigate the difficult process of finding an appropriate attorney. Can anyone recommend an attorney in the Washington DC area, or one with a national practice, that would come to DC? It is very difficult to decipher between attorneys that truly have experience in this area, and ones that just say they do. Referrals mean much more than self-promotion.
