i dealt with them about 30 years ago. back then they were awesome. we rode a shriner van up there. we stopped for meals along the way and were not allowed to even leave a tip for the waitress. they made sure we had everything we wanted and were not allowed to pay for anything on the trip up there or when we got there. all food was free drinks were free, we were treated like royalty almost. the doctors there acted like they were treating their own children. if a child was scared, they would work with them to make them comfortable before they did anything to them or ask them anything. they got down on the kids level to work with them. my niece was scared at first then cried because it was time to go home. she wanted to go back the next day. and got quite upset because she couldnt go till her next appointment time. the treatment she recieved was great in the way of surgeries. she can walk now with no assistance. she has cerebral palsy.
i know that has been a long time ago but i doubt if it has changed much. i hear very recent stories about them like that all the time.
