our case chosen for lawsuit

Our child's case was recently chosen for representation by a law firm. I don't have any idea what to expect. Anyone who has had a case litigated, or gone through this process, would you please respond with your email address, so that we might communicate privately?

Our child has gone through both primary mod quad surgeries - having severe injuries - 3 nerve ruptures. We had one law firm turn us down - so we wonder why this other firm has chosen our case.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Our daughters case settled out of court a couple of years ago...we had a very difficult time finding attorneys, no one locally would even challenge the doctor. Finally we found a wonderful and caring law firm who did a outstanding job..If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me
Best of Luck

we are currently in the process of a lawsuit for our 3 yr. old son who was injured at birth. i actually had lawfirms knocking down my door to represent him! once we chose a lawyer we were comfortable with we started the process of collecting information. it took several months for the delivering hospital to release the records, but finally they did! the expert our lawyer uses reviewed the data and came to the opinion that there was malpractice. SOOOOO now we start collecting more information and waiting! i guess we're in the same boat! you can contact me at pattisy@aol.com if you wish to correspond privately.

Hi Sheila,

I'm curious about how close to your trial date came before the Dr. tried to settled out of coarse. We are getting close to our trial soon and was wondering what might happen.

We went through the court and jury and came back with a verdict in our favor. We settled afterwards so it wouldn't go to appeals court

we went to mediation twice before the trial date...The first time was about 4 months before the court date, and not all of the depositions had been taken...The first mediation was a waste of time..The second one was more like a formal offer to my attorney...Since he had to fly so far to come to the first one....The offer was resonable, so we took it...maybe we could have got more if we went to court, but there was a good chance we would have got less too.
