Louise's daughter Elizabeth doing ok

Post by francine »

I waited with Bob and Louise while Elizabeth was having surgery. I got to see her before surgery and she was sleepy and watching a video. I left right after the doctor came to tell them about the success of the surgery so that they could go be with Elizabeth in recovery. She had a forearm osteotomy- this means that they cut two bones (ulna and radius). I got to see the xrays of what they did- very interesting. Can't wait to see her purple cast.

Louise thanks everyone for the prayers and positive thoughts. They are such a nice family. BTW- I had Louise sewing awareness ribbons for the UBPN store..so someone out there is going to get a VERY special bag of ribbons!

if you have any messages for louise - post it here and I will bring them to the hospital tomorrow or email it to me francine@injurednewborn.com

Thanks, Francine, for keeping us updated. When you see them all again, let them know we are all thinking about them.

Nancy - indeed she is a very strong girl and she is VERY brave. She wanted this surgery badly and she told the doctor why and what she intended to do afterward. This Elizabeth is going to get places in life! I am amazed by her bravery today. (especially after seeing the xrays)
