Charities or Organizations that help with medical bills

Post by rappold6 »

I have posted a few times and would like to hear some feedback. My son has had his surgeries but they were 2 years ago. The results were phenomenal. We were partially covered (30%) by our insurance and have been left with a bill that we could never pay off in 30 years. Has anyone found a charity or organization that has helped with medical bills? I found one but they require the surgery and/or medical expense be within 30 days of applying for their help. I have spent the last 2 years fighting the insurance company and appealing their decision and trying to find a lawyer to fight with us.
Any help is appreciated.

Have you talked to Dr. Nath directly? If you search on this site you will see many posts from people who didn't have to pay anything after their insurance paid.

I wish I knew of one. We went to Shriners and didn't have any bill because they don't charge the patients for surgery. There's always bankruptcy to get rid of the bill. Or you could just stop making payments and eventually it would go to collections and get negotiated down to something reasonable if the doctor won't work with you.
