the full moon

I'm posting this on both the tbpi board and the adult board because I am curious about whether those of us injured feel extra sensitive during the full moon. I know that I feel the joint pain and the arthritis a lot more during that time, esp. in the back and shoulders, both of them since I now suffer from the overuse on the other side.

Anyone else?

nancy, have you checked the back of your hand for hairiness? lolol!
Only kidding.....can't say the moon has a noticeable effect on my arm pain, but cold or wet weather does....if the moon's pull is strong enough to create the tides, and we are what......90% water? Then its pull must surely have an effect on us? If bpi pain can be affected by moisture in the air, then maybe the moons action on the water in our bodies has an effect also.......it's funny you bring this up, one of my kids is just learning about the origin of the word 'lunatic' and how much the moon was thought to govern human behaviour.
On another note, now I'm 'down here', I sometimes look at the moon and think how it's the same moon you guys are looking at up there, makes the distance seem smaller and I don't feel so far away!

Ha! Good one Jenny. I'll watch out for the growing fangs and pointy ears too. Does this mean, in that definition you gave to your kids, that I am a lunatic?

Phew, thank goodness for that... I thought it was just me ! What's my Dad got to do with anything ???? But anyway, yes he did have a bike back in the 1940s and 50s. Also my mum had a scooter, and my brothers Charlie, Rob and Doug have all had bikes. I even tried to teach the dog to ride a bike, but it couldn't get a crash helmet to fit. Silly me, I'd forgotten the law doesn't require dogs to wear crash helmets !

you're obviously too young to remember the euphemism
"did your dad have a bike" - the idea is that if two people not related share a common bond, eg looks, sense of humour, did your dad ride his bike over to to the other persons house and have an affair!
OR are you taking the micky out of me ??
Hmmm
