I came to ubpn several yrs ago but then just stopped posting. I am 39 from Alabama & have a ROBPI. My past surgeries are a mod quad, limb lengthening/rotation, ulnar nerve repair (because of the lengthening). I credit this site to a lot of my current knowledge.
My question is that my neck & shoulder has been just about to get the best of me. It has always hurt but has been igetting worse. All my surgeries were in Texas & I am in the process of sending my records to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota....have ANY of you had or known of someone that had good/bad things come from the dr's there??
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hello, I'm a TBPI and I have had nothing but excellent care from ALL of the Mayo clinic doctors (that's about half of thr orthopedic section, hahah) but especially the bpi doctors (bishop, spinner, shin, elhassan) They are experts in their field and are easy to work woth personality wise. As far as I know they have an excellent reputation throughout the BPI comunity. If you check out my videos you can see the progression of my treatment I've recieved from there.
Also, if you are planning to come to MN, please consider becoming a participant in an important new study being run by Dr. Bassem Elhassan of the Mayo clinic to gather information on adult OBPI in order to better treat both children and adults with OBPI. I've included links to both the videos and the study.
Good luck,
Ang

I have had two very successful surgeries at the Mayo with Dr. Steven Moran, one to regain better hand function and one to resolve my shoulder pain both very successful! I have much better hand function and pain about once a year if I severly over do it.
You can email me if you have specific questions as I am still a little sporatic on this site since having my baby 3 months ago.
