LSU Dr. Klein

Post by damend »

Has anyone had any experience with Dr. Klein at Louisiana State University? I am trying to get into see him. I have a partial avulsion of C5, total of C6, 7. It has been 8 months post injury and I am trying to get into surgery asap. Are there any other suggestions out there. I am 26 and live in Chicago.
From what I can see I need to get into surgery asap.
Any help would be good.

Thank,

I thought I heard a while back that he retired? Check the medical resources list on here... it's on the home page. I'm sure though that even if he retired - he passed the ball onto someone he has trained well. At least I hope so!

good luck,

Hello,

Dr. Klein is indeed still practicing. He is a wonderful man and trys his hardest to help everyone. My son has been seeing Dr. Klein since Sept. of 1993. He has operated on him twice. He still goes once a year for checkups and just saw him in Feb. Only problem with Dr. Klein he is in such high demand it takes a long time to get an appointment, but he is well worth the wait.

Dr Kline and Dr Tiel are the best!
our son was hurt in oct 1997, his 5th and 6th were pull out of the spinal cord and we went to dr Kline, and Dr Tiel they did surgery on him in april of 1998 and he was released in feb of 2001 with full recovery, we had to go thru a doctor to get a appt. so if you will have your doc call for you , you can get in, you will have to take all your records, exrays, mri, ctscans, emgs' with you, just ask your doctor to call!

We tried to get in to see Dr. Kline from day 1! From that very first night in the critical care unit, we were told that the expert in the field was Dr. Kline in New Orleans. I called early on (along with also contacting Dr. Nath in Texas). Dr. Nath was good enough to respond to an email encouraging us to see him. Long story short, we ended up having a surgery date with Dr. Nath, as well as Yale New Haven Hospital in Ct. I was just ready to book the airfare and SURPRISE got a call from New Orleans. Because of what I'd heard from Day 1, I decided that was where we wanted to go. My son was 20 and I felt that Texas specialized more in younger patients. Nothing personal here at all believe me, I was just trying to get the best possible results for my son. Anyways, I think Dr. Tiel in Dr. Kline's office is available sooner and he's just as good. We don't regret for a minute our decision, you can't do that, you just have to go with it because time is of the essence. We go back in about 3 weeks for our 2nd post-surgery check-up. Whatever decision you make, believe in it.

Hi, I am 8 months out and have a brachial plexus injury upper C5 & C6. I have done allot of research and found Dr. Kline to be highly noted. I met Dr. Nath during a trip he took to San Diego and found he to be a great person. Dr. Nath has been doing research and surgery in regard to nerve transfer and has found it to be highly effective.

I am trying to get my insurance PPO...thank God to approve surgery with Dr. Nath in Texas for a nerve transfer in hopes of regaining bicep.

Good luck to all... I am curious my injury ocurd as a result of an auto accident air-bag. How have others incurred their injuries.. I am 32 years of age.
