Medical Mission Trip - Help

Post by Its1105 »

Haiti was has been devestated by cholera, earthquakes, and flooding since 2010. while other countries right now are also experiencing great natural disasters, we should not forget about those that have had them in the past and are still struggling to get back to their optimal level of functioning. Haiti is considered the poorest country in the Americas according to the Human Development Index. As a society, we should be looking out for one another, helping them to reestablish their optimal level of functioning within their culture and society.

Christ the King Catholic Church will be taking three mission trips to Haiti this summer.

1. Dental Trip: May 16-21

2. Teen Trip: June 11-18

3. Medical Trip: June 19-25

Being in my last year of nursing school, with only one semester left, I would absolutely love to go and contribute to helping the Haitians during the medical trip. This past semester has been rough for me. I isolated myself and only thought about my problems. This trip will allow me to reach out, see others, join the world, and help others. I not only will gain an immense amount of knowledge about life and regain focus on what is really important, but the people of Haiti will be receiving the help that they need as well, which is of the utmost importance.

The link to the website for Help Brings Hope For Haiti, the group organizing this trip through the church is: http://www.hbhh.org/

The trip costs $950 from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Therefore, the trip will cost me a bit more as I will be coming from Indiana first. However, if I do not make enough money to attend the trip, anything that was donated will go straight to the trip. It will be sent to those in charge for them to use to buy supplies or help with their travel costs if they were short money. So no donation will go to waste.

Any amount of donation will be helpful, whether it is simply $1 or more. It all adds up in the end!

To donate money you can go to my donation site at: http://missionmixup.com/mymissions_deta ... d/297.html

If you would like to donate, but do not wish to do it over the computer, please message me and let me know and I will give you my address that you can send the money too.

Thanks so much for reading and considering helping out!
