when i had lung surgery a couple of years ago, i got a lung pillow.it serves the same purpose as a heart pillow that is given to heart patients in the shape of a heart. this pillow was very new. i was only the second person to get one. it is the shape of two lungs and is was used to help with pain from my lung surgery. this pillow has been used be several people for several things. currently, i am using it for my bpi arm. since it is the shape of a set of lungs, it fits in my armpit pointed up to let me swing my arm or down it lets me rest my arm without putting pressure on my shoulder. when i am walking a long way, it helps to keep my shoulder from sagging. and since it has the big groove in it, i can put my arm in it and rest my arm while walking or sitting. i dont have to worry about dropping it because it fits snuggly on my armpit or sideways to rest my arm on.
just an idea for someone who has problems with support who dont want a sling
