For a family member in Puerto Rico...
Hello All,
I have a family member down in Puerto Rico that recently (almost four months ago to be exact) got a TBPI. He has seen many doctors and no one has been able to do anything for him.
I did some research and found this website. Today I called Mayo clinic, and hopefully we will start arrangements to bring him there as soon as possible.
I was just checking if there is any spanish speakers in this forum that could share their experience with him. It's been a very rough time and maybe someone willing to share the experience will bring a little hope for him.
Thank you so much,
Giselle

Hey, good luck to your family member, mayo is a great hospital with great doctors. Just so you know, it's very important to get to see a BP doctor ASAP because if surgical intervention is needed, you want to try get it within the first 5-6 months of the injury for the best results.

A great guy for him to connect with is Fernando Jaimes. He has been on the boards for a number of years and has a fantastic attitude. He is a husband, father with two young children, runs his own company and is very athletic. He waterskis, snow boards, rides bikes and just about anything else. I think he was injured abuot 2005 and lives in Ensenada, Mexico.
I know he is on Facebook, so you can look him up that way and connect there, I will also send him an e-mail to post here and you can send him a PM.
I also just need to say, he is a really great guy.

Hello. Just to let you know I asked my bp surgeon at the Mayo Clinic if either him or one of the other bracial plexus doctors either spoke spanish or had a spanish speaking representative and he said he thought something could be arranged. I thought maybe if your cousin could communicate directly with the doctors and ask his own questions instead of needing you or his sister to translate the whole experience would be easier on him. I can send you a pm later when I get home (I'm typing on my phone and it sucks, lol))
I hope this helps.

He can also use our translate button found on right side of all pages to at least read what is on our site in Spanish. It is a new feature!
