wondering about pain in BPI arm. i had severe pain for 3 or 4 months when i was first injured. i took lyrica for a few months. the pain was not bad enough to continue the lyrica. i was pain free for 4 or 5 months. now i have severe pain again. it is a different type of pain, though. there is very little pain whatsoever if nothing is touching my arm. but when something touches my arm, even lightly, it feels like it is going to explode from being "electrocuted". it also feels like the bones in my fingers and hand are big splinters.(that is the only way i know of to describe it) has anyone else had this to happen? i am back on the lyrica but i have not taken it long enough to help yet.

My arm has never done that before, but have you seen a doctor? I'm going to see one this Thursday. Maybe it would help both of us to see doc just on the safe side. :)

oh yeah, i am on lyrica because the doc wants the pain to be under control before she considers surgery. i got 2 months for it to be under control. then i go back and the decision will be made on what to do.

My hubby gets that kinda pain. Hypersensitivty and nerve pain. He is a patient at the pain clinic. He was so hypersestivie in his upper left arm in the begining he could not even wear shirts with sleves and if our kids would acciently bump him he would about drop to the floor in pain. It was awful. He still has hypersensitivty but its not near what it used to be. Below his hypersensitivity he has no feeling at all. A freind of mine has a husband that was bite by a brown reclose spider and almost lost his leg and did lose alot of muscle, tissue, and nerve and has had alot of tendon transfers, muscle transfer, he had neuromas and had tons of shooting electricity pain. It is where the nerves roll into little balls instead of growing straight. Mayo clinic did all that work too. I would see your doc. Good luck. Becky

yeah people tell me that i am crazy by saying i have no feeling but it hurts severely to touch my arm. hopefully, this doctor i am seeing will help me get rid of this crazy pain. someone said just this morning that since i was holding something cold, i could feel the coldness. no i could not feel the coldness, it was not shooting electricity down my entire arm. hopefully this will get better when i see this doctor.
