Does anyone else have any issues with sweating since their injury? i sweat like a bitch, its driving me crazy. It's not just under my arms, its literally ever inch of my body, its gotten to a point where i cant even go out in public for long periods.

if i go out in the garage to work on the car, i easily go through 8 t-shirts in a 6 hour period. they can be rung out they are that wet, looks like i got pushed in a pool.

i thought it might be because of medication, so i asked my doctor and he said theres no way its because of the medication and it has something to do with the nerve damage to my plexus. and there is absolutely nothing that can be done.

has anyone else experianced this? does anyone know of any solutions?

i used drysol 2 years ago for my armpits and never had sweat under my arms since. its only for underarms and palms, but im going to try it on my back and chest tonight. just looking for other tips if any.

Thanks

That is absurd. You need to get a referral to a specialist. The brachial plexus injury only affects your arm. You are describing an all-over body reaction to something. You need to find out what. Your current doctor is obviously NOT the one to ask! That's not to say that he's not a good doctor in what he's treating you for... but not all doctors know everything.

It could be injury to the spinal cord in conjunction with the BPI. Regardless, I would want it checked out by a specialist. "It's just due to the BPI" is not an explanation I would accept from just anyone. If it was just injury to the plexus, it would only affect the autonomous nervous system for the arm... not the entire body (this is why a BPI arm tends to be too too cold, not sweat, get sunburned more easily, etc).

thanks for the replys, im going to try to get an appointment with a specialist. should i see a dermatologist? because i seen one about 6 months ago, my arms and legs were breaking out from scratching, i asked her about sweat back then, and she basically told me there is not much to be done, and its "natural" i dont think she realize the extent of the sweating tho.

Have you seen a nerve specialist or BPI specialist for your injury?
