- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: My daughter, Merandah, was born on August 22, 2006 with a severe brachial plexus injury. I did not know until today that this website/organization existed until today. It is such a relief to me to be able to connect with other parents whose child(ren) are coping with the same injury. I always knew that my daughter was not the only person coping with this injury but I always felt alone because I didn't know anyone else who either their child or themself was dealing with a BPI, but now seeing this website and the "blogs" or "forums" reminds me we are not alone.
New to UBPN and would like to connect with others
My name is Hailey and I live in Sonoma, California. My daughter Merandah was born with a severe Brachial Plexus Injury & until now I felt very alone. I know that to most people, compared to other injuries or disabilities, BPI is a "mild" disability but to someone who either they themselves have BPI or their child has BPI it's not so "mild." From my experience BPI affects my daughters way of life. I would love to connect with other parents and if anyone lives in the Bay Area and wouldn't mind doing play dates that would be awesome! - Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: My son Benjamin was diagnosed with OBPI at birth. He recently underwent a Nerve transfer surgery at 10 months of age. He is a patient of Dr.Howard Clarke at Toronto Sick Children's Hospital
