Best place to operate a plexus injury

Hello all.

2.5 months ago I managed to turn a great ski vacation to a medical nightmare. I had a bad dislocation of the Humeros head with multiple fractures. When I woke up from the operation I realized that something was wrong and indeed, the Injury was wider than expected and included a partial brachial plexopathy and injury to the right Radial and Axillary nerves. According to the EMG results, the injured spot is located in the posterior cord, however the doctors were unable to ascertain the extent of the injury.

They now recommend that I undergo a surgery in the next few weeks in order to try and fix the problem and while I am leaning to undergo an operation in 1-2 months, I am worried that the doctors in my country do not have enough experience to perform the surgery.

I am in the process of looking around for the best medical team/facility in this area. Since I am from Europe I am looking in Europe but am ready to fly to the US (or the moon if that's what it takes) in order to be operated by the best team.

I would appreciate your advice/tips on the issue.
Thanks
Omri

Hi,sorry to hear of your injury.
I avulsed c5,c6,c7,c8,t1 and went to London for my surgery. (National Queens Hospital for Neurology and Neuroscience+Princess Grace Hospital)
I seen Professor Thomas Carlstedth,he's a top guy well worth getting in touch with if your in Europe,i travelled over from Ireland.
Maybe if you speak to him a send him some MRI results or similar,i seen him in the Princess Grace Hospital in London city.
Any thing you need to know please ask, what are your symptoms by the way? dead arm etc?

Thanks for the advise. I actually have an appointment with Dr. Carlsdat next week. I received his name from another source few weeks ago.

Have you ever heard by chance of the Millesi Center in Vienna? The head guy there is Dr. Hanno Millesi he works with Dr. Shmidhammer?
