Have they tried contacting the Shriner's Hospital? I know the one where I live in Montreal does international kids for free.

Unfortunately, Shriners Hospitals have been hard hit by the recession and reduction in giving. As of April, 2009, they stopped taking international kids, at least for now

"The service area of Shriners Hospitals for ChildrenĀ® includes the United States (including Puerto Rico), Canada, the Republic of Panama and Mexico. As of April 2009, we are temporarily not accepting new patients residing outside of these areas."

I hate to be the bearer of that kind of news! I read it on an adoption board I'm on and was extremely saddened. I hope that this economy recovers soon!!
