Thomas is 8 and is doing wonderful in school. Now that he is growing you can tell a big diffence in his arm size. Will this always be a problem? He still can't tie his shoes but we can do buttons now.... Just wanted to say hello again

Hi, I was born with erbs in the 1950s, The Shorter arm I have for life, Is it a problem , well I found ways to over my limiations to a point to drive a semi and became a master diver. Tom like me will be face with things he will want to try even tho you might not want him to? He may fail and fell bad and you will to. You and he will find things he will overcome and surprise you to. I remeber when my mom saw that I climb a tall tree one handed at 9. I never could tie a shoe, good thing they make slip ons. I can button a shirt one handed its harder than pull over shirts. My mom said try to do things the best you can, With time you do learn to do many things with the limiation. When I got older I thank my mom for letting me try even tho there was things I could not find a way to do. There is so many treatments today and in the future, There were no surgerys as I was growing up.

Best Hopes.

Tom
