I've noticed differences too. Yes, it feels different but one thing I remember was that when I was first developing it was worse than now at 35. I guess it kind of "normalizes" for lack of a better word. I've also breastfed 3 children and was able to do so on both sides without any awkwardness other than having to use pillows to prop my OBPI arm up. I really didn't notice any difference.
Please tell her to give it some time. I know how weird it feels now but it should pass. I'd be happy to answer any other questions if she has them.

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Re: ****warning****adult women...
I can't do a self breast exam and not just because of the length difference but also I can't really feel well with my robpi finger tips... I also can't take my own pulse and that's annoying for exercise and Cardiac Rehab.
One breast is much larger than the other and my peck muscle is wasted ( but not really noticeable to others). I was not allowed to nurse BUT I know that other bpi mothers have nursed. The doctor told me I could not but I don't think he knew for sure so he did not want to take the chance.
This is a big worry for such a young girl. She still has more time and lots of changes between now and the time when she will have to face these decisions. We change so much in our teen years. A beautiful well developed girl of 15 still changes a great deal as she matures...
Hope this helps

I never noticed a difference in nipples, however I'm with Kath there's a definite difference in size of entire breast. The only one who notices is my hubby.
I breastfed Jack for days shy of 2 years. I had some trouble in the beginning with him latching on, and maybe if I have trouble again, whenever I have another kid, I'll take note. Maybe there is something to it. But I used a nipple shield to help him latch on and once he got the hang of it better we no longer needed it. I also pumped for a lot of those 2 years. It was worth all the work.
