I am wondering if anyone has any problems with their child stuttering? My son is 14 and 1/2 and stutters very badly. I wonder if there is any relation between the two?

I've never heard of a link between a BPI and stuttering.

Usually, stuttering is believed to be caused by a genetic predisposition and other factors like anxiety while speaking. It can be from neurogenic causes, but if your son hasn't had any serious medical problems lately or been in an accident, I doubt that's the cause for him.

When did your son start stuttering? If you'd like, I can send you some more links and articles about stuttering causes and interventions. Is he receiving speech therapy for it at the moment?

we had explosive onset stuttering with Maia when she was around 2 1/2 years old --- I have a long explanation that I can give you about this but I'm not used to a laptop that I'm using temporarily and I'm having a hard time typing...
