I know I brought this up in the past, but just want to show everyone what I have created lately.
I found a leathersmith here in Madison, that is great with his work and takes much pride in it. Oddly enough, his main expertise is sex slings and bondage.....LOL i know..
But I worked with him on creating a more appealing sling, and something to show off at least. I personally have his first three we created and are getting them down now. Check out his page http://madisonleathersmith.com/

He just made the blu/black sling.. If you click on it, you can see the sling I created.. I'm still oiling the sling to give it a rustic look, but it can be worn raw also.
I also have a black (biker style) sling with large buckles, grommets and studs. These are very comfy, light, strong and durable. You can wash them with water also, so its very convenient..

Shoot me your ideas, I'm always up for ways to critique them..
Cool thing is you can get any color you want. I also have a girlfriend who tattoos. She is going to make some designs on one of them and ill put neatsfoot oil over it to pop the design

Very cool...not really my style :)
But it looks great on the guy in the website.
I have a fur sling made for me when I had my fur coat made over 20 yrs ago. I also had mittens made of wool/fur...a hat too...the only thing that sticks out, is the tip of my nose...
I prefer hemy slings...less stress on the good shoulder/plexus...and stabilizes the shoulder much better and less likely for the arm to fly away from your body, thus, less accidents...only have one. It was made at St. Michael's. Seat belt nylon, tube padding around the shoulder/plexus...small sling each for the elbow and hand..leaving the rest of the arm open. Much cooler in the Summer too...
If you like I can get my daughter to take a picture of it and mail it to anyone interested in it's design.
I'm fortunate that I hardly need to wear a sling anymore...

Thanks for the info...
