I've been to Ireland twice and loved it. Both parents were born there so I had a chance to look up some family info. I found the people very friendly and helpful and the food was great. We toured the South and drove all around the North. It was simply beautiful. I've been to Italy and Greece. We stayed in both hotels and Bed & Breakfast and they were so clean, comfortable and friendly in both North and South. As you can tell we had a great trip. I love Italy and Greece and had great trips but as I said it was a different feeling in Ireland because that is where my parents were born.

Enjoy your trip. Yes we have some parents and an obpi from Ireland. I believe they have a bpi support group in Ireland.

Hiya,

I'm from across the water in Scotland. I was in Ireland for a week this summer.

Tips - take a rain coat and welly boots! it always rains! lol. although i predict you may get a few nice days but it will still be cold. Despite the weather you wil see AMAZING scenery, and meet really nice people along your way.

Where in Ireland are you visiting?

Staying in Kilkenny. We rented a cottage for 2 weeks, but will be driving all over. Have been considering taking the Ferry to Scotland. What do you think?
Can't wait to leave!!!!

Maybe there are other ferry's but we considered going to Scotland when we were at the Giants Causeway. Don't miss it, it really is amazing. It was built by Finn McCool the Irish Giant I heard so much about as a kid...:) I'm sorry I did not cross over now. That was in the north and we did both north and south of Ireland.

I think there is a Mom from Kildare on the General boards.

aw kilkenny is gorgeous! :D and the surrounding areas are fabulous 2.

It may be worth your time sailing over to Scotland because then you can say two places during the one trip.
