This is my first time posting on this board. I’ve had Erb’s palsy in my left arm and I just turned 35. I’ve managed to do Great in my life with Erb’s palsy and I hope to find out more about it. Does anyone ever experience a nervous surge type feeling that goes through your arm? It does not hurt but I can’t sleep or concentrate when it happens. I would like to find out if there is anything out there that can help me with this.
Thanks

I use to call that electric shocks....
My arm just freezes when I sleep or if I am not using it but right now its freezing and I am typing...
I don't get that electric shock feeling as much any more.
Have you read any of the awareness material on Erb's Palsy - OBPI?
Start with the Information for Parents of infants because that will help explain what happened... Read the terms etc...
Education is the key to keeping our arm moving and well cared for and helping us avoid overuse and secondary injuries.
Welcome to the board

Me too! I get it when I'm getting sick or overstressed! But mine is very severe, with shooting pain I just can't tolerate. I stay home from work and take very powerful drugs.

You also will notice it when the weather changes...
I get less and less as I get older and I have had so much more Physicial Therapy in the last two years...
In fact one of my friends who never comments on my arm.... just told...."Kath you are moving sooooo much better I am so happy to see it".... she never talks about it... and I did not realize how limited I had become...
Exercise is important for us. Warm water therapy really helps. We can get a good stretch then...
Nice to see you again Carolyn...
