Hello all, Thomas did so wonderful. He is up walking around at 14m so proud of my baby. Our trip was great going out to Tch but the weather yesterday was terrible we sat in the air port from 3pm to 7pm we got in about 12midnight. So happy to be home. Well as far as the surgery we had Mod Quad but they were unble to splint his arm upright it is just straight out from his side his elbow was so tight. "still is Dr. Nath said he needed some work on his bicep but they don't do it on babies his age but my have to or he will never be able to raise his arm above his head :( that was the bad news we may have to go back in 6m but we are just going to take one day at a time or only big problem at this moment is he always sleeps on his belly and he can't tolerate it if he tries to lay on his belly so we get on our side with arm straight up in the air. I meet some other people from OH 2, NC, TN.
It is sad to see so many kids with this......Glad to be home .

Carron,
Glad to hear that Thomas is doing so well and things went smoothly at TCH. Amanda wore the same splint you're talking about after caps surgery. She slept with her arm straight up in the air for the entire 16 weeks! Isn't it amazing how our kids adapt?

Maia had her arm straight up too when she slept on her side...funny look - made great shadows (we would play with this - do puppet stuff (LOL)

Carron - I'm so glad things went well and you're all home safe and sound. Thank God!

Hope your first days home go smoothly and hope Thomas keeps on doing well. We're here for you if you run into a snag.

Carron, so glad everything went so well! Michaela slept on her side with her arm straight in the air, too. I think it may be the most comfortable postion because of all the hardness of the splint and the buckles, etc. I thought Michaela's always looked so funny.Make sure you take a picture to show him later!

Carron- glad you guys are safely home! And that everything went well. I hope Thomas has an easy recovery. What signs did he show for needing the caps? Hope you both take it easy...
Prayers, hope and faith coming your way-
Natalie

Carron.....So glad you made it there and back safely. Glad to hear Thomas is doing well. Kyle wore the same airplane splint after his surgery and slept with it up in the air also. It is so great to see how well these kids adapt to what is handed to them. I wish Thomas a safe and speedy recovery. Best wishes to you and your family.
