Just wondering where the Georgia parents take their children for bpi care and would you refer them to someone else?

Hi Kristin,
We live in Atlanta and take our daughter to the Brachial Plexus Clinic at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. Here is the link:

http://www.choa.org/default.aspx?id=1159

Our primary doctor there was Ann Scwhentker but she recently left the clinic to start a clinic in Norfolk, VA.

We've been really happy with the care we have received there and the rehab therapists (OT & PT) are also wonderful.

When we were first going through the process of find a doctor we started at CHOA, then also got a 2nd and 3rd opinion from Dr. Terzis in Norfolk, VA and Dr. Nath in Houston, TX. We felt most comfortable with the docs at CHOA and it made things a lot easier because we live in Atlanta.

I know that there are a lot of people on the message boards that have had great success with Dr. Kozin in Philly and Dr. Nath in Houston. I hope this helps. If you need more info let me know, my email address is ccorkra@emory.edu

Dear Kristins Mom,

I am familiar with Dr. Scwhentker from cases I am working on in Georgia. She is qualified and fine but I would urge you to find your way up Shriners to see Dr. Kozin. Philadelphia is not that far from Georgia and it would be worth the trip. Dr. Kozin is a great doctor and a wonderful person. If you want more information about Dr . Kozin please contact me.

We live in Atlanta, Covington area, and we see Dr. Kozin in Philly. We are very happy there and actually have to see him again in August. We also saw Dr. Schwentker, but I fell in love with Dr. Kozin and his staff. We do use OT and PT at a CHOA satellite clinic and I can't say enough wonderful things about the therapists. I hope this helps. Please feel free to contact me if you'd like to talk or have any questions.

I live in South Georgia & we make the drive to Atlanta. We used to see our doctor in the clinic @ the Children's Hospital also. Since surgery we see him in his office. We use Dr. Gary Lourie. He is in with a bunch of doctors at the Hand & Upper Extremity Center of Georgia. Here is a link to their site www.handcenterga.com. We have been going for 4 years & we love them. Everyone at his office & at Children's are like our second family.Hope this helps & you find a great doctor for your child.
