Peyton broke his arm!

Post by Marnie »

Hi, I haven't been on in a long time. Peyton is 11, he broke his arm at school today. He fractured the humeral head, on the x-ray it looks like the humeral head just fell off! So the Dr wants to do a closed reduction and put pins in and take the pins out in 6 weeks. I sent the x-ray to his brachial plexus dr and he agrees with this. Peyton will have the surgery tomorrow, please pray for him as we don't know what this will do to his function. Peyton was in alot of pain today with this. He seems to be feeling better at the moment.

Anyone who wants to see the x-ray email me and I will email it to you.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.

My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!

I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

Hi Jameson broke his already injured arm too. He was a little older(15ish? I've forgotten. He's almost 20 now). He didn't really have pain and I didn't take him in right away. He said it felt funny...I felt horrible when the doc said it was a clean break right through both bones of his forearm....sheez.

He did have his radial head removed twice(it grew back) because of it being deformed.

Good luck on his surgery and I pray he gets well soon.

Thanks everyone. The surgery went as expected. We are home. They did a closed reduction and put pins in. The pins will come out in six weeks. He is in a sling with a pillow between his body and arm. We are both exhausted but glad the surgery is over, I'm hoping he heals quickly.
