Clenched Fingers/Fist

Hi all!
My daughter had her primary nerve surgery in June and since about November/December she has been holding her fingers tightly clenched at the middle knuckle. We're still able to stretch her fingers and when she relaxes they loosen up. Just wondering if anyone else had experienced this or not?! If so, what if anything was done and did any further movement come back?
Thanks!!

Frankie had the same thing his fingers curled but he had no finger movement his OT made a night splint that straighten them while he slept but unfortunatley during the day they would bend in again but it did help to keep the muscles from atophing all together he now has movement of his pointer finger

Thanks for glimmer of hope! Any movement at this time would be great ... I'll take the pointer finger or thumb or any finger for that matter
I have to keep telling myself to be patient!! Aubree also wears a splint at night to keep her fingers straight! Thanks for responding! It's good to know someone else out there knows what I'm talking about!

My son who is 2 1/2 years old has always had his fingers and wrist clenched but in the last year or so he extends his pointer finger and is constantly putting small toys in is hand to hold. He also wears a splint at night for his thumb to extend.
Its slow but progress and its asking us parents to be what we hate to be..patient..lol.
Keep the faith!

How wonderful! Aubree tries to hold things in her fingers too, but hasn't quite figured it out yet. As determined as she is I'm sure she'll have it figured out soon! Aren't our kids just AMAZING!!
