Having been TBPI for 24 years years I have still not found any devise to allow me to cut my fingernails, other than getting some else to do it. Has anyone come across a device that allows you to cut your finger nails ( I can't stand biting them)?

Get a pair of big finger nail clippers or toe nail clippers and balance it between your knees. Gently squeeze your knees together to clip. If wearing pants, roll your pants above your knees. The trick is to hold the clippers against the bare skin of your knees; otherwise, the nail clipper will slip. I've been doing it this way for 7 years. I could not stand having other people clip my nails.

I have never been able to figure out how I could use one of those nail clippers in the above post. I live alone though and i was forced to figure out a way to trim my nails.
Ok here goes> Sitting in a chair.I use a long pair of clippers like toenail clippers. I set the clippers on the floor upright between my toe and the floor. I then lie my hand on the floor sticking my nail in the clipper. Push down and clip. It takes some pratice but ts better than bitting or weekly manicures.
And by the way my bpi hands nails are hard as stone. I wonder why? Circulation? just curious.

I'm the same about those gadget nail clippers,John, so you've got your good hand nail in there.....then what? Push it with your chin? lol! I sometimes wonder if they actually test some of this stuff on one handed people. I do the holding the clippers in my knees thing, and yes, you do need bare skin. Or I get my kids to do it in the depths of winter when bare skin isn't an option.
My bpi hand nails are crumbly and soft and very ridged. I can easily peel them off like a newborn baby's nails. This is a good thing because my claw hand makes them bloody hard to cut and I have cut the end off my fingers a few times, don't feel it and only notice when I see the blood all over my clothes....grossed out enuf yet? :0)
