information/son's birth injury

hello, I am from Ohio. My son is now 15 and I recently took him to Childrens Hospital in Columbus where they evaluated him. I am still waiting for results. I broke my son's right collar bone when I gave birth to him. The pediatrician told me to pin his arm up for six weeks and all would be well. I did as iI was told and after six weeks his arm was mostly unresponsive. I had an emg done and took him to physical therapy. He walked before he ever crawled. I believe the only reason that he crawled was because he built up his muscles climbing stairs.
Now he is almost 15 years old and the doctors that saw him at childrens say he is incrediably fortunate.
He has all of his muscles and his nerves fixed themselves. Yet, he still has a numb spot on his arm and is left handed because of this birth injury. He also has a learning disability called agraphia. I am looking for information on this link. I believe that my son would have been right handed and he may have this disability due to the injury. Does anyone know anything or any way I can get information on this??? I am sure that this has happened before. Do other kids have disabilities because the hand that they favor is not their dominant hand. And then of course there is the right brian/left brain stuff. Please reply!!! The learning disability is a block from his brain to his hand. He can read anything and has an incredible speaking ability but the putting it to paper is just not there.

I was struck by your words that you broke your child's collarbone when he delivered. I hope you don't believe that you are to blame for your son's injury????

Jamie,
Please don't feel like you broke your son's collar bone and gave him this injury. We have gotten great results from alternative treatments like acupuncture, chiropractic and reiki energy.

Birthing classes. they do not warn you about BPI. There are no pamplets nothing. I have 3 kids. I am young going on 24 on Aug 3. I took one birthing class when I was pregnant with my second child. I read many books during all my pregancys. DONT blame yourself. Oh by any chance did your midwife brake your bone.or preform the 16 differnt manevers that can all be prefomed safely without damage to your child. I try to warn soon to be parents but they just look at me like I am nuts well one day one of them will be in our shoes and say hey I should of lisened to that girl and checked out that website.
