Hi, I am new to the group, but I have been reading your posts and find it very uplifting. I am 36 years old with Right BPI. When I was born I originally couldn't move my arm at all, but when I was a few months old I began to move it (or so the story goes). I went through physical therapy my entire child hood and gained a lot of improvements in my movement. However, as I get older I become more and more concerned. It seems the more I age the more irritating it can be.
I never let the injury impair my life. I rarely, even thought about it. But, now, I have been having a lot of pain in my dominant arm, no doubt from overuse, which causes me to worry. I look forward to all your support and thanks for letting me vent my frustrations and for reading this.

WELCOME HUNYBARE ! to our UBPN Family.that's what this network is to me. I still learn new ways to relieve pain from al of the Forum message boards. As we age, because of over-use of our "good" limbs there developes arm & hand secondary injuries. It is wise to start "saving" your unaffected limbs now in every way you can. Since I found This site in 2004, I stopped pushing a vacuum and sweeeping & moping.others do it. when carrying grocery bags from the car into my apartment my good arm takes alot of time to recover. I learn alot of ways to do therapy from parents too on the General Board--do stretching exercises in warm water pools/a hot tub only. Everyone is welcome on any of the Forums.
Also, There is no such thing as a dumb question; we adults love to answer questions instead of typing one-handed our "story" or & over...also if you type a word or subject phrase in the "Search Forum" box at the top of any page, all of the posts on the subject coms up for you.

Hunybare - Welcome!
I too found myself very uplifted when I found UPBN! I've learned more in a year through them than I had from other sources in the 39 prior years of my life!
I won't go into everything here about my experiences with pain management, but I have a post out there about A.R.T. and urge you to read it for details. I have had GREAT success with iit in relieving pain - caused by overuse - in my "unaffected" shoulder!
It may not be for you, but based on what you say, it sounds like it is worth a try! I started it because at about your age I started to experience a lot of shoulder pain and decided I wasn't going to wait until it was too late and use of my other are was permanently impaired!
