Any Specialists Texas

Post by Cris »

My husband had TBPI in August and we are running into sooo many road blocks... He has no movement in his arm, but he can move his hand and fingers. We finally saw Dr. Nath but now I am running into insurance problems, because he does not accept any insurance and my insurance won't give him out of network benefits... so here is my dilemma...

Has anyone ever had this surgery with someone else other than Dr. Nath in the state of Texas???? Any help would be very much appreciated...

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: RTBPI - injured during a right cervical rib resection on 12/3/2008 for thoracic outlet syndrome. The doctor completely transected the lateral cord at C5-C6 Erb's pointe and the suprascapular nerve. Had a nerve repair done on 12/12/2008 to reattach the nerves. Did two years of OT. I have some issues with overuse issues with my left shoulder and also have come to find that my joints are hypermobile so I have instability in the joints which causes a lot of problems such as pressure and pain.

I was in Indiana when my stuff happened, but wanted to go home to Dallas to have surgery... I ended up having it in Indiana but I was given the name:
Dr. Patty Young in Plano Texas
http://www.pattyyoungmd.com/

She is a plastic surgeon but also specializes in brachial plexus injury repair. I never talked or saw her, but my surgeon in Indiana recommended her if I chose to come to Texas instead of have him do it.

Hope that helps some and is not too late to get to you. I have also heard of some at UT Southwestern.
