Hi, Lori (I checked your profile to see your name). Welcome to the board. I'm sorry that you had a "need" to come here, but glad you found us. I live on the east coast, but went to a BP Conference in KC last year. There was an OT, Andrea Broers, from Children's Mercy Hospital in KC who did a presentation at the conference. She seemed to be very knowledgeable and experienced with BPIs. You can contact her at 816-234-3380 or Laura Young, RN, at 816-460-1084. Hopefully that info. is still valid. Also, are you in touch with the Midwest Brachial Plexus Network? You can email them at
gehrings@discoverynet.com. I'm sure they will give you some great advice too. How old is Lynsie? Was she injured during her birth? We have a 2 1/2 y.o. daughter, Nicole, who was injured during her birth. She has had surgery and lots of therapy. I truly feel that the aqua therapy has been a great help in her ongoing recovery. I hope you find a good heated therapy pool program for your daughter.
On a different note, although he has always lived on the east coast, my husband is a huge Chiefs fan. I noticed "Jets" as part of your email addy. Is that as in the football team? If so, that would be a funny coincidence too b/c my husband has season tickets with some family members to the Jets games and none of the four of them who go are Jets fans. They just love football and the Jets are the closest team (of course, the Giants are at the same stadium, but it would probably take a lifetime to get those season tickets).
If you'd like, share more like how old your daughter is and what treatments / surgery / therapy etc. that she has had. If not, that's okay too. Take care.
