It has been quite a while since I have posted. My son, Amaru, is going to be 2 next month. He just became a big brother. I had my daughter Aug 25th via c-section at a completely different hospital then the one he was born. The experience was very surreal, especially because two little arms and fingers were waving at me. Also, many of my family members first words were "everything is ok, both her arms?". We have received so much love regarding this delivery it was amazing and at the same time everyone made my son feel even more loved.
We are still not looking at surgery with Amaru. He will definitely need a tendon transfer for his wrist later on but his fingers are flexing much more than before. He continues to work with his therapist and us of course. The only thing new with him is he has starting pinching his arm and biting the skin of his pointer finger. We discussed with doctor and it looks like he is regaining some feeling. Anyone else have that issue?
Well I think thats all for me...just wanted to say hi and I am happy to be able to log back on and read whats going on.

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
