Amputation Question

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I visited. In Feb. 2006, my son Chris had BPI reconstructive surgery at Mayo Clinic. He is still in very much pain...he believes mostly due to the weight of his arm. The surgery just did not accomplish what we thought it would. He wants to amputate and just can't make that final decision. Is there anyone here who has amputated an arm after a BPI injury? Chris' quality of life if horrible and we believe if he amputates he will be able to things he can't do now because of the cumberson task of caring for his arm. He really needs to talk to someone who has amputated before making this decision. Please contact me via email or phone. imsand777@aol.com or 770-318-2834
Thank you inadvance...we really need to hear from someone.
Angie

Try posting on the TBPI board too.. more likely to get a response there.

Good luck,

another out is dans slings only thing is they are custom made how old is he i mean hell grow out of em if hes growin but its just 100 bucks a sling maybe you can get your ins to foot the bill but these slings are wonderful i felt the difference first time i put it on.dan is a great guy he's been like this 20 years.he not only sold me the sling he called and talked to me and he is such an inspiring person.but the sling is key.it takes the hanging pain off him and he'll feel like a new person i promise.i thought about amputation but i'm kinda attached to my arm.plus all of em say even when the arms gone the pain stays.but the sling really works and i stand 100 percent behind this claim.i think everyone that needs a sling must get one of these.so look up dan on the tbpi board i swear he will be a godsend.
