Trial date changed

Post by crystal »

I am so happy they changed our trial date. I would miss this first week in nursing school if it hadn't. THe girls also would miss the first week of school. So this is better for us. Also we are expecting a baby girl in Dec. and the stress of trial was killing me. SO this date will be July 2009. 9 years and 2 months after Jade was born! Some of us are lossing our memory of what happend!!!!!

I think we started the whole thing when Jade was 1or 2. its been about 7 years. We had a lawyer that someone from this board had recammend. THis lawyer was BAD, Did nothing for 5 years? We got another one last year and we could not be more happy.

P.s. I hoe to graduate from nursing school in a year and a half.

Crystal,

I am so very sorry to hear about your awful experience. It is just so wrong and like we don't all have enough stress as it is. We too ended up in what we felt was a bad legal situation with an attorney that came highly recommended from other parents. We ended up basically firing him just a few weeks before our schedule mediation, which was a crazy risk to take but it worked out beautifully in the end. Anyways, I sure wish you luck next summer and hope your very, very long and stressful journey pays off and comes to an end.

I would be interested in knowing which lawyers you have worked with. If you are up to sharing, please drop me an email. It is so hard for parents to get well rounded information about doctors and lawyers, since only those with positive experiences tend to be the ones stepping forward to share and make recommendations. There seems to be no real safe place or open communication lines for others to share negative and very concerning experiences that we all should be aware of.

Thanks,
Lisa
