Hello all,
I am new to the board I have a 5 1/2 year old son with a severe LBPI (he has an avulsion). He has had two other surgeries but now is being recommended for a forearm osteotomy w/Dr. Davino in Texas. Can any of you give me feedback on this?

Thank you very much.

I know I start to sound like a broken record.... get a second, third, fourth (if you want to) opinion. Dr. Davino is an excellent surgeon. I know people who have used him and been very happy. But there is more than one way to do an osteotomy (where you enter, plates and screws?, just screws?, leave the hardware in or take it out?....just to begin with) and you should have more than one doctor's opinion about this surgery (well, really, any surgery).

go to our medical resources page and start emailing the docs. You might have to travel, but isn't becoming more knowledgable and having peace of mind with your decision worth the travel?

good luck,
claudia
