I hope I remembered the name right! If I didn't I apologize. You have been so informative regarding the helmet issues. (cephalplagia is that right?) Anyways, I have several questions I have regarding that. My niece will be 1 yr old in June. Her head is very mishapen non bpi related where her ears are not aligned. if we look down at the top of her head it looks diagonal. her cheek on one side protrudes and one eye looks bigger. Her mother doesn't notice it. She went to a "doc" cranial surgeon to be evaluated and he said that she needed a RX and that he doesn't or can't write them. he said it's too late for the ears to change but he recommended the helmet. She went to a neurosurgeon this week and he walked in and automatically said "no, I dont write RX for helmets" he said the brain will make it normal in time and that she probably did need the helmet when she was an infant , but that it's too late now and that the helmet would do her no good. I am very irrated with that particular doctor and all of them who are saying it is only cosmetic and that it does no brain damage or anything like that. It reminds me soooo much of all the "curse word" doctors who told me " oh addy's doing great, it will be ok in time, no dig deal!!!" Oh it gets me mad everytime I think of it! Anyways, my understanding is that a helmet should work up to age of like 24 months. Is that right? Do you have any advice. We started looking into this about 2 months agao and time is being wasted trying to find someone who will help. That jerk doctor who told her " No, I will not write a RX" what does it hurt that man to write one, It's not coming out of his pocket.

Please any advice would be grateful. Do you think it will be just fine? Her hair is not going to cover her head shape. The back of her head is completely flat where her neck runs into the back of her head with no definition.and then her face is shifted differently. Thanks so much
