Hi everyone,
I just had our 3 month meeting with our OT and Early Intervention casemanager and as we looked at his goals from the last time, Amaru unfortunately did not reach them. I need some help. Currently Amaru's biggest problem is that he does not use his hand. He refuses to hold things (but can if you put something in it)and consistently removes them from his right hand if you put something in. Also, he is seems to be using his right leg as his arm. He does not reach for anything and objects to any purposeful use. I need help!
What kind of things did you do to help your kids realize he has another hand he could use. I am concerned that he is adapting so well at being one handed. I feel frustrated and like I am letting him down. I know that after this revelation, I am going to have a serious talk with his doctor next month. He is 15 months old. I would appreciate any advice given or ideas to help with his treament. Thanks!
